Located in Gangmun-dong, Gangmun Beach is lined with fresh hoe (sliced raw fish) restaurants along Gangmunhang Port. Located 1 kilometer away from Gyeongpodae Pavilion and 6 kilometers from downtown Gangneung, Gyeongpo Beach is a sand bank formed between Gyeongpoho Lake and the ocean. This beach has a beautiful sandy shore that extends to a length of 1.8 kilometers and shallow waters, making it a popular beach attraction. By the beach is a lush pine forest where visitors can enjoy forest bathing. Other activities to enjoy around the area include the cultural art fair that takes place at the beach stage every summer, riding a bike along Gyeongpoho Lake, and hiking the nearby mountains and valleys.

Gangneung is as renowned for its delicious coffee as it is for its scenic coastline. Strolling along the cafe-lined beaches of Gangneung, visitors can experience a coffee aroma that rivals the sea breeze. Famous coffee manufacturers attend the Gangneung Coffee Festival and hold a tasting event. At the opening ceremony, 100 baristas hold a “100 People 100 Tastes” performance where they simultaneously brew hand-drip coffee. Visitors are welcome to taste 100 kinds of coffee at this special event. During the festival, competitions are held to select the No. 1 barista for each category, including latte art, hand drip, and roasting. Tourists can also visit cafés in Gangneung that are taking part in the festival and receive a stamp to get a prize. Coffee enthusiasts should not miss this opportunity.

Anmokhaebyeon Beach spans over 500 meters in length and covers an area of 20,000 square meters. The beach is often packed with families on vacation. Right in front of the beach is Anmokhang Port, where around 23 fishing boats can be moored to unload their catch throughout the year. The place has also become more popular since the main street along the beach earned the reputation as a "coffee street."

Napjak Sikdang is a beloved local spot known for its osam bulgogi (spicy squid and pork belly bulgogi), a Korean dish made by stir-frying fresh squid, samgyeopsal (pork belly), and bulgogi in a special sauce. Gyeongpo Provincial Park was officially opened on June 26, 1982. It houses many cultural assets and memorial sites centered around Gyeongpodae Pavilion, Gyeongpoho Lake, and Gyeongpo Beach. One of the eight scenic spots in Gwandong (old name of Gangwon-do), Gyeongpodae is famous for viewing the moon, as well as fishing at Gyeongpoho Lake. However, fishing is now prohibited due to the lake being designated as a natural protection area.

Gyeongpo Beach is thought to be the best beach on the East Coast. The crystal waters of Gyeongpo Beach, elegant Gyeongpoho Lake, Gyeongpodae Pavilion, Banghae Pavilion, Hohae Pavilion, Gyeongho Pavilion, and Gyeongyangsa Temple make Gyeongpo Provincial Park a great vacation attraction year round. Known as one of the most scenic locations in Gangwon-do, visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms in the spring, swimming in the summer, and deep-sea fishing and walking on the beach in the winter.
