Chungju Jungangtap Park is home to the Seven-story Stone Pagoda in Tappyeong-ri (National Treasure), set before the beautiful scenery of the Namhangang River. The stone pagoda was built during the Unified Silla period and was the largest stone pagoda at that time. Because of its location in the middle of the nation, it was called Jungangtap (jungang means middle in Korean). The area around the pagoda was made into a sculpture park, with 26 art pieces from artists all over the country.

Songpungjae is a bean curd specialty restaurant located in Chungju. Housed in a hanok building, it offers an ambiance that reflects the beauty of Korea. Bean curd, made from soybeans, is the main ingredient here, with the unique feature of being cultivated directly on-site. Their signature dish is sondubu jeongol (handmade bean curd hot pot), while their jjageuri (pork stew), and ori cheolpan gui (stir-fried duck on hot iron plate) are also popular choices. It takes about 20 minutes by car from Tangeumdae Overlook of Chungju to reach the restaurant.

The Wildflowers and Old House Excursion in Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do, was the family house of the late Joseon period scholar Choi Eung-seong. The sarangchae and anchae both contain two guestrooms and are rented out as houses, while the gate house and the annex both have two rooms which can be booked separately. Renting the entire house is also possible, although there are no catering facilities. Sitting in the Old House’s pavilion is enough to recreate that old-time hanok atmosphere.
