Mijin is a restaurant specializing in spicy hot baby octopus and cool buckwheat dishes. Opened in 1954, the restaurant's 50-year history is a testament to the great taste of its dishes and the charm of the restaurant.

The main ingredient, buckwheat, is delivered daily from Bongpyeong, the largest buckwheat producing region in Korea. Baby octopus is also delivered every morning from ports in Yeosu. La ceremonia de cambio de guardia empezó en el año 1996 con la ayuda de los historiadores más famosos y renombre. Se realiza en la puerta Daehanmun del palacio Deoksugung, y es un excelente evento para apreciar la cultura real de la época de la dinastía Joseon. El evento se realiza 3 veces al día y muestra al público cómo los guardias cierran y abren la puerta siguiendo movimientos estrictos y que requieren mucha fuerza. El cambio de guardia se realiza para todo el público de forma gratuita. La ceremonia comienza con la llegada de los guardias de reemplazo, y después intercambian códigos verbalmente para verificar si son sus aliados. Luego siguen unos ritos que duran 7 y 8 minutos respectivamente, y la ceremonia finaliza con una ronda de patrullaje. Es interesante ver cómo los 18 soldados tocan enérgicamente los tambores. En Corea no hay muchos lugares que recreen ceremonias de la corte real, por lo que el Cambio de Guardia del Palacio Deoksugung es un evento al que vale la pena asistir. Los coloridos trajes de los guardias son muy llamativos y permiten sacar buenas fotos. No olvide visitar también el palacio después de observar la ceremonia.

Run by a couple hailing from Bukchon, Inwoo House is located in an alleyway in Gye-dong, Jongno-gu, which is part of Bukchon that is well-known for old hanok houses. Inwoo House, meaning 'the house of Inwoo,' is inhabited by the owner couple and eight-year-old son Inwoo and his younger brother Yeonwoo. The couple, who have always lived in Bukchon, moved to Inwoo House in 2010; their parents run another guesthouse -- Yeonwoo House -- in Gahoe-dong, which isn’t far from Inwoo House. These two hanok guesthouses seek to provide guests with an opportunity to experience the true aspect of traditional Korean house amid the natural environment. Inwoo House, which has the typical style of hanok in the area, features a cozy yard, a toenmaru (narrow wooden porch running along the outside of the building), and several charming decorative items. It has three rooms – Tokki-bang and Haejanggeum-bang situated in Sarangchae (a detached building) and Nori-bang, which is a communal space. Due to its quiet location, guests can enjoy relaxation with a serene atmosphere in their rooms, which are decorated with calligraphic works and furniture inlaid with mother-of-pearl in a simple way. Each room is equipped with a bathroom. The guesthouse offers breakfast such as toast or tteokguk (rice cake soup). Inwoo House is an ideal place to stay for guests with children as the owner couple have children with whom children can play in the alley, yard, or toenmaru with an interesting hanok environment. The guesthouse also provides various traditional activities including traditional Korean clothes experience, traditional Hanji (Korean paper) craft experience, traditional knot bracelet making, and fan decorating, which are popular among foreign tourists and children. It is adjacent to restaurants, coffee shops, convenience store, and other tourist attractions including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Insa-dong, and Samcheong-dong.

Observatorio Jeongdong (정동전망대)

Esta atracción oculta se encuentra en el piso 13 del edificio Seosomun, que pertenece al Ayuntamiento de Seúl. El espacio originalmente había sido utilizado para el almacenamiento de suministros y equipo del ayuntamiento, pero fue rediseñado como un observatorio en 2013 y ahora está abierto al público de forma gratuita. El mayor atractivo de este observatorio es que los visitantes pueden tomar una taza de café caliente (las bebidas tienen costo aparte) mientras contemplan la espectacular vista del palacio Deoksugung, la Plaza de Seúl y el área de Jeongdong. El paisaje cambia según las horas o la temporada, lo que constituye otra característica atractiva de este observatorio. Después de pasar por aquí, los visitantes también pueden conseguir un buen almuerzo en uno de los muchos restaurantes cercanos.
