Opened in 2001, the Ansan Botanical Garden has three halls. The first hall (382.81㎡) is a tropical garden, home to 98 species, including palm trees. The second hall (846㎡) features 177 species in 11 families of floral plants, such as irises. The third hall (846㎡) features 177 species in 4 families of marsh plants. Outside gardens include a rose garden, fruit tree garden, wild plant garden, plant succession garden, and a pond featuring a total of 46 plants including red momo botan lotus. The botanical park has a pyramid-shaped, modern greenhouse that is a source of pride for Ansan City. The park is also connected to Seongho Park.

Surisan Mountain, a provincial park of Gyeonggi-do, surrounds Gunpo and is also easily accessible from Anyang and Ansan. Surisan Mountain is said to be named because there is a rock in the shape of an eagle. Another legend says it is named after the nearby Surisa Temple.
Surisan Mountain is part of the Gwangju Mountain Range along with Cheonggyesan, Gwanggyosan, Gwanaksan, and Baekunsan mountains. The mountain has four peaks and the highest is Taeulbong Peak (489 m).
Grand old trees that range from 100 to 300 years old make for picturesque scenery. The mountain also won first place in the 2002 Beautiful Forest contest hosted by the Korea Forest Service.
Hwaseong Fossilized Dinosaur Egg Site (화성 공룡알 화석지)

The Hwaseong Fossilized Dinosaur Egg Site was discovered on an island in the tidal plain south of Sihwaho Lake. The island was revealed when seawaters were blocked during a land reclamation project. As the sedimentary layer formed during the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic Era (dated around 83 million to 85 million years ago) was eroded by weathering, roughly 200 dinosaur eggs in thirty nests were discovered at twelve dig sites. It is anticipated that more fossils will be discovered once a thorough investigation is carried out and more land is reclaimed.
The discovery of the Fossilized Dinosaur Egg Site in Hwaseong has greatly expanded the scope of Korean paleontology; previous paleontological discoveries were exclusively limited to fossilized dinosaur footprints. This significant discovery has attracted many internationally renowned scholars who have visited the site in Hwaseong.
