Jangseung Park on Chilgapsan Mountain is the largest preservation area for "jangseungs," the ancient wooden or stone totem poles that were usually placed at the village entrance to ward off evil spirits. It was established in May 1999 to counter the dwindling awareness of the artifacts, and houses some of Korea's tallest jangseungs (11.5 m) as well as replicas of indigenous totem poles from across the world. Today, it continues to host the Annual Chilgapsan Mountain Jangseung Festival, and serves as an important site of Korean history learning.

Situated in Boryeong, the spacious Gaehwa Art Park is a theme art park that houses a variety of parks and attractions: to name a few, Mosan Fine Arts Museum, Birim Park, Yukpilsi Park, Hwain Music Hall, and Herb Land. The orange roof of Mosan Fine Arts Museum was made by using local stones. At Yukpilsi Park, visitors can see over 1,500 sculptures, statues and monuments as well as large stones inscribed with famous Korean poems. At Herb Land, visitors can enjoy dining. Throughout the park, visitors can see seven different ponds, waterfalls, and walking trails as well as animals such as deer, rabbits, and ducks roaming freely.

Chungcheong Suyeongseong Fortress in Boryeong is a stone fortress built by the Joseon dynasty (1392-1897) in the 16th century to defend against invasions through the Hwanghae Sea. It offers a picturesque view of the Hwanghae Sea and several islands. The entrance to the fortress, called Manghwamun Gate, showcases stone artistry with its polished granite arch. This site also has historical significance as a place where Catholic persecution occurred in the 19th century.

Ocheon Port Ferry Terminal operates ferry services to nearby islands such as Woldo Island and Yukdo Island.

Ongmasan Mountain is located in the southern part of Boryeong with its highest point reaching 601 meters above sea level. Although the mountain encompasses the areas of Myeongcheon-dong and Nampo-myeon, it can easily be identified due to the transmission tower installed at the peak. The mountain's name is said to have derived from the legend of the last king of the Silla period and his horse that was hit with a jade arrow. The mountain has a paragliding center and a pine forest with rest spots. At the northern section of the summit, there is a pavilion that offers an excellent vista and Daeyeongsa Temple, renowned for its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring. Ongmasan Mountain can be reached by taking the National Roads 21 and 40, and other regional highways as well as expressways. Nearby attractions include Boryeong Mugunghwa Arboretum, Seongjusan Mountain, Seongjusan Recreational Forest, Boryeong Coal Museum, and Gaehwa Herb Land.

The Hongju Millennium Monument was created in 2018 to commemorate the past one thousand years of history in Hongseong (previously called Hongju), while also looking to the future and the next one thousand years. The entire monument is shaped like an hourglass, with historical figures, cultural assets and specialty products of the area at the top, and a time capsule embedded at the bottom of the monument, set to be opened in 2118.
