Mageompo Beach in Nam-myeon, Taean-gun is located right before the bridge that leads to Anmyeondo Island. As the beach is not widely popular among tourists, one can spend a quiet and tranquil vacation here. Near the beach is a dense pine tree forest where one can enjoy camping. The white sand and shallow waters also make it a good place for kids to swim. In the evening, the beach is a great spot to watch the breathtaking sunset.

This beach is famous for silchi-hoe, a dish consisting of freshly sliced raw fish. The ocean near the beach is one of the biggest natural sources of fresh seafood such as anchovy, sand eel and short arm octopus.

Seokhwachon is a traditional Korean restaurant converted from a rural house. It specializes in Korean dishes. The menu includes specialties such as hanbang ori baeksuk (whole duck soup with medicinal herbs), hanbang dak baeksuk (whole chicken soup with medicinal herbs), samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), saengseon gui (grilled fish), and galchi jorim (braised cutlassfish). The restaurant offers a variety of dishes that are both hearty and refined, combining sincerity and homemade flavors. Boasting a location where mountains and sea coexist, Boryeong offers diverse ingredients, and it hosts the Boryeong Mud Festival annually in July.

Seosan Gaesimsa Temple (개심사(서산))

Situated in a dense forest in Sangwangsan Mountain and 6 kilometers away from Haemi-myeon, Gaesimsa Temple is one of the four major temples in Chungcheongnam-do. The path from the parking lot to the temple site is quite remote and curved, but beautiful especially in spring when cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

The temple was built in 1484 during the 15th year of King Seongjong and designated as a Treasure. The architecture of the temple stands out, as the buildings use bent tree trunks for pillars.
