Hwaseomun ist der Name für das westliche Tor der Festung Hwaseong. Das Tor ist der koreanische Nationalschatz Nr. 403. Über der Mujigae("Regenbogen")-Tür aus Stein befindet sich ein einstöckiges Turmtor. Der Schutzwall am Hwaseomun-Tor ist halbmondförmig und zu einer Seite offen, im Gegensatz zum Paldalmun-Tor, das über einen kreisförmigen Wall verfügt.

Janganmun ist das Nordtor der Festung Hwaseong und dient auch als Haupteingang. "Jangan" bedeutet Hauptstadt und deutet darauf hin, dass Suwon zeitweise den Rang einer "zweiten Hauptstadt" hatte. Das Janganmun-Tor wird als Haupteingang betrachtet, da der König aus der Hauptstadt Hanyang (früherer Name von Seoul) kommend, aus dieser Richtung die Festung erreicht hätte. Interessant ist, dass dieses Tor größer ist als das Tor Namdaemun (Sungryemun) in Seoul.
