Während der Verfolgung von 1801 wurden hier Katholiken hingerichtet, darunter der erste koreanische Pfarrer Andreas Kim Taegon, der erste ausländische Pfarrer Koreas Ju Mun-mo und der erste ausländische Bischof Koreas Laurent-Joseph-Marius Imbert. Derzeit sind innerhalb der Stätte die sterblichen Überreste von 9 Heiligen aufbewahrt.
