Forêt du temple Woljeongsa (월정사 전나무숲)

Le temple Woljeongsa est situé dans la forêt de la vallée à l'est du Mt. Odaesan. Le temple Woljeongsa fut établi par le moine Ja Jang(590~658). Vous pourrez y voir le musée Seongbo dédié à la culture bouddhiste de la dynastie Goryeo (918∼1392), la pagode de neuf étages de forme hexagonale aussi appelée Sari-pagode, et le bouddha assis en pierre. On y trouve aussi le Jeokmyeolbogung où les restes de Bouddha seraient préservés et le grand hall de prière Jeokgwangjeon. Contrairement à la coutume on trouve dans le pavillon Jeokgwangjeon une figure Sakyamuni et non Vairocana. Le temple fut restauré après la guerre de Corée en 1950 au cours de laquelle Chilbulbojeon, Yeongsanjeon, Gwaneungjeon, Jinyeonggak et 17 autres bâtiments furent détruits. C'est une époque durant laquelle de nombreux objets historiques furent détruits comme le Silla Dongjong. Le site Budo (site des reliques) et sagoji (endroit où sont gardés les documents historiques) se trouvent près du temple de Woljeongsa. Le site Budo est à 15 minutes de là au temple Sangwonsa, situé juste avant le pont Banya. Là se trouvent 22 pagodes contenant les restes des moines ayant vécu ici. Sagoji est à une heure de marche du temple Woljeongsa, près du temple Yeonggamsa.
