Temple Manghaesa (망해사)

La route n° 29 de Geumsan à Gimje vous emmènera vers une ville nommée Mangyeong. Le temple Manghaesa se tient sur une falaise surplombant l’océan, à 12,3 km au Sud de cette ville. Le temple se dresse au sommet de la falaise qui apparait juste au-dessus de la colline Jinbongsan, surplombant l’immensité aquatique. Le nom-même du temple Manghaesa désigne une immense mer. Le temple est réputé pour avoir été créé par le grand moine Buseol Geosa pendant la 2ème année du règne du roi Uija de Baekje (642). Dobeopsa, un moine chinois de la dynastie Tang a rénové le temple, et pendant le règne du roi Injo de la dynastie Joseon, un grand moine du nom de Jinmuk Daesa a établi dans le temple le hall Nakseojeon (bien culturel n° 128).

Hermitage Seongmoam à Gimje (성모암(김제))

Seongmoam est un temple de l’ordre bouddhiste coréen de Jogye, situé sur le mont Yuangsan à Mangyeong-myeon, Gimje-si. C’est à Seongmoam que repose la mère du grand moine Jinmukdaesa. Jinmuk, le grand moine bouddhiste de la région du Jeonbuk, pensait que l’amour et le respect pour Bouddha n’est pas si différent de l’amour et du respect pour ses parents. Ainsi, il a enterré sa mère sur le site du Mujasoncheonnyeonhyanghwajiji.

Les lanternes de pierre parfaitement alignées depuis le parking jusqu’à l’enceinte du temple forment une scène impressionnante. Passé les lanternes de pierre, on peut voir sur la gauche la tombe très bien entretenue de la mère de Jinmunkdaesa. C’est le seul et unique temple à accueillir un hall Gosiraejeon, qui est un bureau d’administration destiné à l’entretien de la tombe. Une rumeur persistante affirme que si l’on fait un voeu et que l’on prie pour son accomplissement auprès de Seongmo (la Sainte Mère), le voeu se réalisera. C’ets pourquoi le temple accueille toute l’année de nombreux visiteurs venus exprimer leur respect envers Seongmo.

Parc du lac Eunpa (zone de loisirs d’Eunpa) (은파호수공원)

Situé à Gunsan dans la province du Jeollabuk-do, le site touristique d’Eunpa était autrefois un réservoir destine à irriguer les terres agricoles voisines. En 1985, le réservoir et les collines environnantes ont été désignés site touristique national. Le nom « Eunpa » vient du fait que les vagues brillent au crépuscule. La construction du réservoir est antérieure à la dynastie Joseon ; c’est un site d’une grande importance historique qui figurait dans le Daedongyeojido (Grande Carte de Corée) développée par le géographe Kim Jeong-ho.

Depuis l’entrée du parc, la route est bordée de cerisiers en fleurs dont les pétales de printemps créent un superbe tunnel de fleurs de cerisiers. Ce site magnifique attire de nombreux visiteurs venus en famille ou en couple. Le pont Mulbitdari est l’un des principaux monuments du site touristique d’Eunpa, et dévoile une splendide vue de nuit sur la fontaine musicale. Le parc abrite également un terrain de roller-blade, une scène au bord de l’eau et un jardin de fleurs de lotus. Le parc du lac Eunpa est un important site touristique et une célèbre attraction nocturne de Gusan.

Temple Dongguksa à Gunsan (동국사(군산))

Le temple Dongguksa fut construit par le moine japonais Seoneungbulgwan en 1909. Il fut dirigé par un moine japonais pendant 36 ans lors de l’occupation japonaise, et est revenu de droit à la Corée lorsqu’elle fut libérée le 15 août 1945. C'est le seul et unique temple de style japonais en Corée.

Le temple est caractérisé par ses deux bâtiments principaux (Daeungjeon et Yosachae) connectés par un corridor, et un relatif manque de décoration, ce qui marque un certain contraste avec les habituelles couleurs vives des temples coréens. Le temple Dongguksa, officiellement désigné comme bien culturel national n°64 en juillet 2003, est désormais une branche du temple Seonunsa de Gochang, le 24ème district de l’ordre bouddhiste coréen Jogye.

La maison traditionnelle Hirotsu a été classée en 2005 comme bâtiment faisant partie du patrimoine culturel de la Corée du Sud. L’établissement se situe dans le quartier de Sinheung-dong et appartenait auparavant aux hommes de pouvoir du gouvernement japonais en Corée. Elle a servi de lieu de tournage pour les films ‘Le fils de Changgun’ (Changguneui adeul), ‘Le combattant du vent’ (Balameui fighter), etc. L’architecture de la maison est typique des maisons des hauts fonctionnaires militaires de l’époque. Construite en bois et constituée de deux étages, cette maison apparaît comme le lieu idéal pour découvrir le mode de vie du gouvernement japonais à l’époque.
