Explanation

Jucheongang Recreational Forest encompasses a forested area of 2.3 million square meters near Jucheongang River in Hoengseong, Gangwon State and is the nation’s first large-scale riverside forest. Located only 4 kilometers away from the Dunnaegyo Intersection of the Yeongdong Expressway, the recreational forest is easily accessible from Seoul. With Chiaksan National Park to the southwest and ski resorts to the northeast, the recreational forest is well-equipped with leisure facilities. It is the perfect place for large and small gatherings among family and friends. Facilities include the Forest School (workshop center), Forest House, Forest Classroom, water park, mini-soccer field, volleyball court, and work-out center.

The Palmido Cruise is a sightseeing cruise that departs from Yeonan Pier in Jemulpo-gu, Incheon. The route to Palmido Island, located approximately 16 km west of Yeonan Pier, offers views of the Incheondaegyo Bridge and the islands of the West Sea. Palmido Island is home to Korea’s first modern lighthouse, which was lit in 1903. The old lighthouse has been designated as a National Historic Site, and the new lighthouse, built in 2003, stands side by side with it. Palmido Island was long restricted as a military protection zone but was opened to the public in 2009. The Camellia Cruise, currently in service, consists of three decks: the first deck features a snack bar and a karaoke room; the second deck has an indoor seating area; and the third deck offers an outdoor Observatory with a 360-degree view.
