Opened on September 27, 2025, Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park is Daejeon’s first lake park, located at the meeting point of Seo-gu and Yuseong-gu districts. Spanning approximately 430,000 square meters, the park features a well-connected network of trails that make it ideal for leisurely strolls, with rest areas and amenities located throughout the park, allowing visitors to comfortably enjoy the lake views. Gasil Catholic Church was established in 1895 as the 11th parish of the Diocese of Joseon, with Father Ha Gyeong-jo of the Paris Foreign Missions Society serving as its first parish priest. The parish’s extensive jurisdiction includes 31 mission stations, and the current church and rectory were completed in 1924. The church’s patron saint remains enshrined there, though the building itself was converted into a hospital. Priests from the Benedictine Order, who fled to South Korea due to the war, have been providing pastoral care for Gasil Catholic Church since 1952. A total of four locations—Hwanggeum-dong in Gimcheon, Yongpyeong, Toegang, and Waegwan—were formerly affiliated with the church before becoming independent parishes. As part of the centennial commemorative project in 1995, the current Shrine of the Holy Mother in Daegu was constructed, and stained-glass windows were installed to enhance the church’s sacred atmosphere.

Doseongul Cave is a natural cave located on Geumosan Mountain in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and is said to be the place where the Great Master Dosun of the Unified Silla dynasty attained enlightenment. Looking down from Doseongul Cave, one can take in a panoramic view of Gumi Industrial Complex, the Nakdonggang River, and Nangsan Mountain in the distance. Upon exiting the cave and walking a short distance uphill to the right, you’ll find the 28-meter-high Daehyepokpo Waterfall, where the water cascades down in a refreshing stream.
