Maengbang Yuchaekkot Village is where one can enjoy the scenic view of canola flowers, cherry blossoms, and the ocean all in one place. Located in Geundeok-myeon, Samcheok, this village was considered as a sacred land during the Goryeo dynasty. Now, it is a village that attracts a flock of visitors every April with beautiful canola flowers. The village also holds a canola flower festival every year to celebrate the beauty of canola flowers that bloom near the 4.2-kilometer stretch of cherry blossom road.

Donganjae is a hanok-style pension built of pinewood and red clay and located in Donghae-si, Gangwon-do. All rooms are ondol-heated and equipped with a shower booth and bidet, and offer scenic views from the numaru floor. The hanok uses geothermal heating (from 150 metres underground) which makes the rooms warm and cozy. Residents can bathe their feet in the fountain in the middle of the yard, and enjoy a morning walk on the pine tree trail behind the house. Donganjae is conveniently located a 10-minute walk from the Donghae City Bus Terminal.

Hapyeonghaebyeon Beach is a tranquil beach with a shallow shore lined with pine groves. The beach is only 20 minutes away on foot and 10 minutes' ride from Donghae Express Bus Terminal, making it a great beach destination for family vacationers and tourists. The 20-meter wide shoreline is 200 meters in lenth, all covered with white sand. The daenamu tongbap, notable for its complex flavor, is prepared with 12 types of grains filled into a bamboo tube before steaming. It is served alongside choices like bulgogi jeongol (bulgogi hot pot), ori jeongol (duck hot pot), and bullak jeongol (bulgogi and octopus hot pot). The menu also features gamja jeon (potato pancake) and ori gui (grilled duck). Additionally, the restaurant boasts a garden that is home to 180 varieties of wildflowers and herbs.

Pencil Museum, located in Donghae, is the first museum in Korea dedicated to pencils and has a collection of over 3,000 pencils from 100 countries worldwide. The 4th floor consists of an art shop and a cafe where one can enjoy the view of the East Sea.

Nongoldam-gil Street, formed in 1941, was transformed in 2010 with the "Nongoldam-gil Street" project by the Donghae Culture Center. Buheung Hoetjip is a restaurant near Mukho Port specializes in serving fresh seafood caught the same day, exclusively using wild-caught fish for its menu. The restaurant closes for the day once the ingredients are sold out. Its signature dish is mul hoe (cold raw fish soup). Other menu items include modeum hoe (assorted sliced raw fish), daegu tang (codfish soup), and hoe deopbap (raw fish bibimbap).
