Established and run by the Goeun Foundation, the Goeun Museum of Photography and the Goeun Contemporary Photo Museum are located in Haeundae, Busan and are the first photography museums founded outside of the capital city of Seoul. The museums aim to offer more cultural opportunities to visitors by collecting real and valuable works representing both Korean and international artists. The venue also acts in the discovery and support of new and up-and-coming artists.

Goeun Museum of Photography has an exhibit room on the 2nd floor, as well as a seminar room and a photo library on the 1st floor. Goeun Contemporary Photo Museum has 3 different spaces for exhibitions, mainly concentrated on contemporary photo works.

Museum 1, located in Centum, Busan, is a media-specialized contemporary art museum established in 2019 by Kunst 1, an art agency. Museum 1, which consists of about 2,314 ㎡ in the form of a duplex, has 80 million LEDs on the floor, ceiling, and walls to provide a surreal experience that guides visitors to artworks. Museum 1 pursues art that the public can experience and enjoy. Therefore, visitors can enjoy about 100 artworks, not only fantastic media art that the public is enthusiastic about but also videos, installations, photography, paintings, sculptures, and ceramics by 21 leading domestic and international artists.

The current ongoing special exhibition aims to deliver a message of healing and consolation through art to the weary society living in the post-COVID-19 era. While contemplating works that combine thoughtful life and philosophy, one can enjoy a satisfying getaway from the tiring reality for a while. The exhibition runs until May 7, 2023.

Busan Cultural Center began construction in October 1983 and finished constructing three halls in 1993. In April 2010, the cultural center underwent renovations and reopend in October. The architecture format used traditional Korean houses with a large, medium, and small halls. Large gates and walls were removed to allow easy access. The roof used concrete slabs to recreate traditional patterns and the exterior walls are made of granite stone.
