'Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park was established to honor the Heo siblings: Heo Gyun, the author of Story of Hong Gildong (a 17th-century novel, the first of its kind written in Hangeul), and Heo Nanseolheon, one of Korea's most esteemed female writers. Hyanggyo (local Confucian school) is an educational institution from the Joseon era.
