Hoengseong Natural Recreational Forest is located in Jeogorigol Valley, which used be a popular recreational spot for the Silla Kingdom royal families. There still remain a 3-story pagoda with the Silla era architectural design, an altar that is thought to originate from the Samhan era, and other historical relics including a stone monument, palace site, and southern region style dolmen. The Forest also has several hiking trails with resting areas and mineral water springs, as well as various convenience, recreational and lodging facilities.

Hoengseong Luge (횡성루지체험장)

Luge, also called a land sled, is a non-powered leisure sport that has been transformed into an all-season sled by attaching wheels to one of the sled events in the Winter Olympics. You can enjoy the cool wind while controlling the speed on the luge with the help of gravity without any additional manipulation. A dynamic course was completed by adding various theme sections to the existing road, forest, and nature in the Jeonjae-Ucheon-myeon Owon-ri section of National Road No. 42. As a single course, it is 2.4 kilometers long, the longest in the world, and it is not an artificially twisted S-shaped course, but a course created using actual roads.

Pyeongchang Mooee Arts Center (평창무이예술관)

The former Mooee Elementary School was transformed into Mooee Arts Center exhibiting works of noted Korean artists. It is located in the town of Bongpyeong-myeon in Pyeongchang-gun, which was the hometown of the famous Korean writer Lee Hyo-seok (1907-1942) and the background setting of his representative novel "When Buckwheat Flowers Bloom." Mooee Arts Center opened on April 18, 2001, after 2 years of preparation by Korean artists of various genres including the Western-style painter Jeong Yeon-seo, calligrapher Lee Cheon-seop, sculptor Oh Sang-wook, and potter Kwon Soon-beom.
The schoolyard has been turned into an outdoor sculpture park displaying large-scale sculptures. The arts center also offers hands-on experience programs and a chance to view the artists creating their pieces.

Jeonggangwon Tourist Farm in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, is a tourist complex with a farm and wildflower garden, a food museum, and a Korean restaurant - plus a jangdokdae with hundreds of jars full of pickling and fermenting ingredients. It was founded by food researcher Cho Jung-gang to promote Korean food traditions. Accomodation is in traditional hanok or in condominium-style rooms, and guests have free use of a water park, ping-pong tables and a ball park. Breakfast and dinner are provided free of charge, with set meals and various local specialties. There’s a hanbok wearing experience, and pay-for traditional food-making programs include bibimbap, chilli paste, and rice-cakes.

The restaurant places a strong emphasis on using buckwheat grown in-house and organic vegetables to enhace the taste of their offerings. With the completion of the Hoengseong Dam in 2000, an artificial lake called Hoengseong Lake was created, and a total of 31.5 kilometers of six courses were created around the lake. Hoengseonghosugil Trail is divided into themes, Course 1 Hoengseong Dam Road (Hoengseongdae-Daegwandae-ri 3 km, about 1 hour), Course 2 Neungseon-gil (Daegwandae-ri-Hoengseong Hot Spring 4 km, about 2 hours), Course 3 Healing Road (Hoengseong Hot Spring-Hwajeon-ri 1.5 km, about 1 hour), Course 4 Contemplative Path (Hwajeon-ri - Manghyangui Hill 7 km, about 2 hours 30 minutes), Course 5 Family Road (Manghyang's Garden 9 km, about 3 hours) and Course 6, Hoesanggil (Manghyang's Garden - Hoengseong Dam, 7 km, about 2 hours and 30 minutes). Among them, the 5-section Family Road (9 km) is a great course to enjoy Hoengseong Lake up close fully and is the only course that returns to the starting point. Course A, which starts and returns from the Garden of Paradise, has three observatories with an expansive view of the shadows reflected on the picturesque lake and cute sculptures everywhere. Course B (4.5 km) continues with a trail full of forests. Hoengseong Lake Shelter Observatory has a panoramic view of the lake and a colony of aspen trees. Section 5 of Hoengseonghosu-gil was selected as an “open tourist destination” by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020, and barrier-free circulation was completed for some sections (parking lot-family rest area).

Lee Hyo-seok Memorial Hall was opened on September 7, 2002 during the Hyoseok Cultural Festival to celebrate the literary contributions and display artifacts from the life of Lee Hyoseok (pen name Gasan). Many of the artifacts on display came from the Gasan Literature Group but some items were also donated from the children of Lee Hyoseok to commemorate the passing of their father.

Lee Hyo-seok Culture Village is the place where the author Lee Hyo-seok (pen name “Gasan”) was born and raised. The village is also the setting of the author’s novel "When the Buckwheat Blossoms,” one of the most celebrated Korean short stories to date.

In 1990, the village place was designated ‘first national cultural village’ by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The village is comprised of the author's birth house, a water mill, Gasan Park, Lee Hyo-seok Memorial Hall, and a buckwheat museum. During the peak of the blossoming season in early fall, the annual Lee Hyo-seok Cultural Festival takes place and visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of snow-white fields of buckwheat flowers.

Lee Hyo-seok Cultural Festival commemorates the modern Korean writer and features buckwheat-themed programs. Events include a Hyo-seok essay contest, traditional performances, a costume parade, a photo contest, and "When the Buckwheat Blossoms" plays and related performances. During the festival, visitors can enjoy makguksu (buckwheat noodles) and memil buchim (buckwheat pancakes) and tour the locations that appear in the famous short story.
