Mungyeong is known for its exquisite ceramics. While each piece has its own individual shape and design, as a whole, ceramics of Mungyeong are highly regarded because of their historical and cultural value. Mungyeong is home to a number of master craftsmen as well as Sagijang (referring to craftsmen making chinaware), who have been officially designated National Intangible Cultural Property. As a renowned kiln site producing Buncheongsagi (grayish-blue celadon) since the early Joseon Period, Mungyeong still offers outstanding ceramics that reflect the essence of traditional craftsmanship.

Located 700 meters from the toll gate in Goesan-ri Hwaryeong Tunnel in Jeungpyeong, Yeongnamyo deals with pottery. Kim Chu-im, the 7th generation member of Baeksan, was born in Gwaneum-ri, Mungyeong-gun, and devoted his life to ceramics. Following the second ancestor Kim Gwang-gyun, the third generation Kim Yeong-soo, and the fourth generation Kim Nak-jip, Baeksan's grandfather Kim Un-hee was selected for the official kiosk of the Joseon dynasty in Bunwon-ri, Gwangju-gun, Gyeonggi-do, and raised his name as a master.  Kim Baek-san has received a high reputation for developing his own work called Jeongho Dawan, and it is a result of the fusion of many types of white porcelain and buncheong ware and the master's sincere personality.

Joryeongsan Mountain divides Mungyeong (Gyeongsangbuk-do) and Goesan (Chungcheongbuk-do), and is situated at the far end of Baekdudaegan Mountain Range that connects Baekdusan and Jirisan Mountains. The mountain is picturesque with its surroundings of dense forest, steep rocky areas, strangely shaped peaks and old trees. It has a grand scale of mountain ridge and high altitude. However, as the hiking trail starts at 529 meters on Ihwaryeong, it is not that tough. Nearby locations include Sinseongbong Peak and Mapaebong Peak, as well as Joryeongsan Recreational Forest.

Cheongungak Hall was the living quarters for President Park Chung Hee from 1937 to 1940 while he was working as an elementary school teacher. After becoming president, he would often visit the hall when there were events in the area of Mungyeong. Cheongungak Hall was built in 1928 and is a prime example of 20th century architecture. Currently the hall serves as an exhibition space for photos of the president and items he used during his time here.

Juheulsan Mountain was once considered to be a sacred place and was the site of annual, royal mountain rituals during the Joseon Dynasty. It is situated in Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do and surrounded by six large villages (Sangcho-ri, Hacho-ri, Sang-ri, Jigok-ri, Palryeong-ri, and Pyeongcheon-ri). The mountain was believed to have produced talented scholars. Meaning “Chief, Majestic Mountain,” Juheulsan Mountain is still seen as the heart of Mungyeong and Mungyeongsaejae.

The Korea Tea Cup Museum opened in March of 2022 as the first museum dedicated solely to displaying dawon, traditional tea cups. The museum displays around 700 cups from the past to modern times, while maintaing over 2,500 tea cups in storage for rotational exhibitions. The museum is operated by Kim Seon-sik, an eight-generation potter. A range of experience programs is available with advance reservation.

Mungyeong Spa is an enormous hot springs complex that first opened in March 2001 and is able to accommodate up to 2,500 visitors at one time, as well as up to 1,000 vehicles in the spacious parking lot.

It offers two types of hot springs water. The yellow earth-colored hot springs water comes from 900 meters underground and the other hot springs water comes from 750 meters below the ground.

Joryeongsan Recreational Forest is located in Joryeongsan Mountain, a part of Sobaeksanmaek Mountain Range. Joryeongsan Mountain is home to groves of old pine and oak trees. Hiking trails weave throughout the forests. Amenities include accommodations, forest park, pavilion, outdoor stage, playground, and remains of a fortress. The water park is open to the public between July and August. The Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center has educational exhibits on forest ecologies and offers woodcraft experiences.
