Sundae is a beloved traditional dish enjoyed as a snack in Korea. It is made by filling pork or beef intestines with mung bean sprouts, dried napa cabbage, glass noodles, and other ingredients, which are then flavored with soybean paste. Cheongpungjip, located in Muhak Market, Chungju, is famous for its Chungju-style sundae soup, served with dried radish or napa cabbage leaves. Chungju Dam Garden is renowend for its minmul hoe (sliced raw freshwater fish) and maeuntang (spicy fish stew). The menu also features a bulgogi set menu, Korean table d'hote, gamasot galbitang (galbi soup in cast-iron pot), yukhoe (beef tartare), kkotdeungsim (grilled ribeye), dwaeji galbi (grilled pork galbi), and samgyeopsal (pork belly). Reservations are required a day in advance for ilpum hanjeongsik (special Korean table d'hote) and sura hanjeongsik (Korean sura table d'hote). Additionally, the outdoor terrace offers stunning views of the Namhangang River.

The water at Angseong Carbonate Hot Springs comes from 700 meters underground. This water contains about 2.800㎎/L of carbonic acid and is beneficial in many ways. It is known to be effective in preventing high and low blood pressures, diabetes, arthritis, neuralgia, depression, lifestlye diseases, obesity caused by lack of exercise, stiff shoulder, back pain, colds, constipation, and hemorrhoids. Carbonic acid hot springs are also good for stress relief, increasing metabolism, stimulating blood circulation, and for the treatment of hypersensitive skin, cosmetics allergies, freckles, age spots, athelete’s foot and eczema.

The water temperature at the hot spring stays between 25-38 degrees Celcius. A separate pool is available for people who prefer a warmer temperature than that. Known for promoting physical and psycological health, a carbonic acid hot spring bath also softens the skin and helps fatigue recovery.

For added benefits, Angseong Carbonate Hot Springs also uses oak wood for heating its jjimjilbang (Korean sauna) and the water.

Binaeseom Island (Binae Trail) (비내섬(비내길))

With dirt roads instead of wooden decks and rustic wooden overhangs instead of lavish displays, Binaeseom Island’s Binae Trail is made of farm roads and trails that villagers use to access orchards and rivers. It is a place with a view of Namhangang River and Binaeseom Island’s fall, and its nearly flat slope makes it accessible for all members of the family. Binae Trail is divided into two courses. Course 1 takes you past the Migratory Bird Observation Park to the riverside trail, the area's highlight, before passing the old quay and arriving at the Angseong Hot Springs Square in a 7km-long, 2 hr. journey. Course 2 takes you over the Saebajisan Mountain Observatory to Binaeseom Island before re-tracing Course 1 from the old quay. After going down the riverside trail and the Migratory Bird Observation Park, the course takes you back to Angseong Hot Springs Square in a 17km-long, 4 hr. journey.
In <Crash Landing on You>, Binaeseom Island served as the filming location for the scene where the two leads and the supporting actors from the North Korean side have a picnic before the two leads escape from North Korea.
