Namsadang refers to performance troupes which started during the late Joseon period (1392-1910). At the time, Namsadang troupes traveled throughout villages, entertaining the people with traditional performances such as pungmulnori, tightrope walking, and more. Regular Namsadang performances in Anseong first began in order to commemorate Anseong Namsadang, known to be the best of all Namsadang troupes, and the troupe's leader, Baudeogi.

The Namsadang Noripae, which was at the heart of popular culture during the Joseon dynasty, can be likened to today’s touring musical theater companies. Anseong is the birthplace of the Namsadang, which expressed the joys and sorrows of the times through various forms of entertainment. The Anseong Namsadang Baudeogi Festival inherits the tradition and culture of Namsadang and the artistic spirit of Baudeogi, the first female to have become the leader of Namsadang troupe in the Joseon dynasty. It is designated as an official festival of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFFⓇ), an official partner of UNESCO since 2006. Namsadang Nori (Itinerant Troupe Performance) is held at the festival, along with other shows, including Pungmul Nori (Folk Music and Dance Performance) and foreign folk performances. Visitors can catch the tightrope show every day, which is performed on a rope three meters off the ground. Other attractions include the reenactment of a traditional Korean wedding and royal procession and the World Parade.

Jeongeonsa Coffee was formerly a stationery store for 50 years before turning into a café. The café created a similar atmosphere to match the previous neighborhood hangout vibe with props and décor. The coffee beans are named in association with stationery items for a nostalgic feel. There are tables, chairs, and storage cabinets to promote a classic atmosphere, as well as photos of the old stationery office and old-style calligraphy posted here and there. The café has just the perfect retro feel to appeal to the younger generation. The signature menu here is Dongbondong Latte and the café uses their own original cream.

Jangan Myeonok is a famous Pyeongyang naengmyeon (Pyeongyang cold buckwheat noodles) restaurant that has been around for 65 years. It’s been passed down for three generations. As its name explains itself, Pyeongyang naengmyeon is a naengmyeon mainly enjoyed in Pyongyang. Dongchimi (radish water kimchi) is mixed with meat broth to make buckwheat noodles. The taste of Pyeongyang naengmyeon varies from restaurant to restaurant, but they all share in common that it’s seasoned lightly to bring out the true flavors of each ingredient. Here, buckwheat noodles are handmade at the restaurant to maximize the flavor of buckwheat. The restaurant also serves jeyuk muchim, the restaurant’s version of jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-friend pork) with other added ingredients like bean sprouts and noodles.
