Hanok Story, on Hyanggyo-gil in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, is a hanok guesthouse that harmonizes tradition with convenience. Each room is equipped with a toilet, TV and AC, and one room has cooking facilities. In the yard is a 50-year-old persimmon tree - the house’s tutelary spirit - and a cafeteria built of cypress wood. Jeonju Nambu Traditional Market opened as a regular public market in 1905 at the site of the Joseon-era Nammunbakk Market, located just outside the Southern gate to the city. Currently the market is comprised of about 800 stores with 1,200 workers selling vegetables, fruits, food, dried fish, furniture, silk goods, and general goods.

The market was revitalized with the creation of the Youth Market, located in the previously empty shops on the second floor of 6-dong. An influx of young shopkeepers and entrepreneurs has given the marketplace an exciting vibe like that found in Hongdae or Samcheong-dong.

The night market held on Fridays and Saturdays also draws in many visitors with a multitude of delicious treats, ranging from traditional dishes such as nokdujeon (mung bean pancake) to fusion treats like bibimbap served in rice paper like a spring roll.

Jeonju Hanbyuk Cultural Center (전주한벽문화관)

Jeonju Hanbyuk Cultural Center is a complex cultural space for performances and exhibitions located in Jeonju Hanok Village. Visitors can see Jeonju Madang Changgeuk and the "FANTASIE" series of performing arts, which is a genre-neutral performance of Eastern and Western works. The exhibition room displays paintings, sculptures, and engravings. The center provides traditional cultural experience programs, such as traditional food cooking, hanji (traditional Korean paper) crafts, tea ceremonies, and folk paintings. Traditional weddings are also available in the center.

Hagindang - also known as Injae’s Old House - is the oldest house in Jeonju Hanok Village, and a designated Jeollabuk-do cultural treasure. The house was built in the royal architecture style by some of the best late Joseon artisans. The Sarangchae guestroom has two sleeping rooms and a living room, suitable for families; while the Byeoldangchae has three guestrooms, one with a tea room space. Guests can use the free minibar while contemplating the old house’s fine traditional garden.

Hanbyeok Tunnel (한벽터널)

A number of romanic and heartwarming scenes were filmed in the Hanbyeok Tunnel surrounded by ivy in the drama series "Twenty-Five Twenty-one." This place often appeared in scenes where to two main protagonists encouraged each other or soothed pain. It also appeared in the scene where the two broke up.

Located in Jeonbuk State, Hanbyeokdang Pavilion has been designated as a Tangible Cultural Property. The pavilion was built as part of a country house for a civil official from the Joseon dynasty. In the past, many writers often sought out Hanbyeokdang Pavilion to find inspiration in their writing. The pavilion is well known for the vista it offers of the beautiful surrounding mountains, thus making it one of the eight scenic beauties of Jeonju.

It exemplifies traditional hanok style and has a small window that captures the sunlight, lending a bright, quiet and cozy atmosphere. Jeonjucheon Stream flows past the hanok, and a walk along the path that follows it is highly recommended. Jeonju Hyanggyo Confucian School is a 3-minute walk away. The sunset and night views from the Cheongyeonnu Pavilion atop Namcheongyo Bridge are beautiful: take a photo!

Gyodongsallae Hanok stands close to the Namcheongyo Bridge over the Jeonjucheon Stream in Wansan-gu, Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do. The sarangchae (men’s house), anchae (women’s house) and an outbuilding provide a total of 10 guestrooms - some traditional ondol-heated rooms, some rooms with beds and one attic room. There are flower beds in the yard, and the cozy interiors are decorated with elegant fabrics and paintings. Two of the sarangchae rooms have terraces offering fine views.
