Hanok Story, on Hyanggyo-gil in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, is a hanok guesthouse that harmonizes tradition with convenience. Jeonju Hanok Village comprises around 700 beautiful hanok buildings, and is Korea's largest, and the only urban, traditional hanok village. The village started in the early 1900s around the areas of Gyeonggijeon Shrine, Omokdae, and Jeonjuhyanggyo Confusian Academy-all important cultural heritages. To experience what hanok is like, visitors can either book a hanok accommodation or visit the Hanok Life Experience Hall.

Eosahwa Hanok Stay, which stands in the center of Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, was originally built as the residence of the Jeonju police chief; it’s unusually high for a hanok and faces south. Siwon is a timber and clay-built hanok stay, part of Jeonju Hanok Village in Jeollabuk-do. It has four guestrooms, all but one with a small attic - so guests can have fun climbing up and down the ladder! The rooms have all been insulated and draft-proofed to keep visitors warm and comfortable. In the yard is a small garden and swing, and guests can play traditional games such as Tuho and Jegichagi - or even take part in a carpentry workshop. Must-see sites such as Gyeonggijeon, Jeondong Cathedral, Omokdae, and Nambu Market can all be reached on foot.

Ihwa Old House in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, is a charming hanok stay with a more than 100-year history, which preserves the traditional hanok pattern of connected wood-floored spaces called Numaru, Toenmaru and Jjongmaru. There are eight guestrooms, all equipped with a toilet. All new guests are welcomed with a glass of home-made sikhye (sweet rice drink) or patbingsu (shaved ice red bean desert), while for breakfast bibimbap or rice-cake soup will be served in Korean brass bowls. Guests can have a go at traditional crafts such as pansori, the tea ceremony, natural dyeing, and hanji making.
