Tongin Market dates back to June 1941, as a public market set up for Japanese residents near the Hyoja-dong neighborhood when Korea was still under Japanese rule. After the Korean War, the nation experienced a swift rise in population, which led to a natural increase in consumption and demand. Mok In Museum Mok Seok Won relocated in 2019 from Insa-dong to Buam-dong. Six exhibition halls offer visitors a look at wooden figures from around the world. Jingogae is a standing store that opened its doors in 1963. Its signature dish is the eobok jaengban (boiled meat slices hot pot), where thick slices of meat are stacked along with vegetables, mandu, rice cakes, and eggs, all boiled together. In addition to this, they also serve dishes such as gejang jeongsik (marinated crab set menu), gopchang jeongol (small intestine hot pot), galbitang (galbi soup), and yukgaejang (spicy beef soup). The spicy and richly seasoned yangnyeom gejang (spicy marinated crab) is also a popular menu item, which when paired with rice, enhances its flavors even further.
