Olleung Royal Tomb is the royal tomb of Queen Dangyeong (1487-1557), consort of King Jungjong, the 11th ruler of the Joseon dynasty. Queen Dangyeong married King Jungjong when she was 13 years old. In 1506, when King Jungjong ascended to the throne, she became a queen as well, but she was deposed due to her father leading a coup against her husband's acendancy. Therefore, her grave was not regarded as a royal tomb until 1739.

Namhansanseong was a fortress that protected the southern approaches to the capital during the Baekje kingdom (18 B.C. – 660 A.D.) and the Joseon dynasty (1392-1897). During the Qing invasion of Joseon in 1636, King Injo of Joseon (reigned 1623-1649) sought refuge here and constructed Haenggung, a temporary palace. Damdaheon is an experience center dedicated to the art of making rice cakes, situated in Geomundol (black stone) Village in Sangok-dong, Uijeongbu. It was opened on October 23, 2009, under Park Gyeong-ae, recognized as a master artisan by Gyeonggi-do. The center offers experience programs like rice cake-making, sweet red bean jelly-making, fermented soybean and sauce-making, kimchi-making, and bean curd-making, as well as weekend farms (offered on a yearly basis). It strives to promote the traditional healthy foods of Korea through hands-on experiences to children and young people, who tend to gravitate toward instant and Western food, and to encourage them to make their own rice cakes at home with Damdaheon’s easy rice cake recipes.
