Ojang-dong Hamheung Naengmyeon originated when grandma Han Hyesun, who migrated from Hamgyeongnam-do to Seoul during the Korean War, began selling Hamheung-style "nongma guksu (starch noodles)," eventually naming it Hamheung naengmyeon (Hamheung cold buckwheat noodles). Its signature dish, bibim naengmyeon (spicy buckwheat noodles), features chewy noodles infused with a tangy-sweet seasoning, showcasing the expertise behind its preparation. Alongside the flavorful broth served as a base, the menu also includes variations like hoe naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles with raw fish), mul laengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), suyuk (boiled pork slices) and mandu.

Jeongdong Guksi features a rich soup with a clean taste, created by carefully removing the oil dozens of times while boiling Korean beef bones for 15 hours. The restaurant uses this same beef bone broth in their mandutguk (dumpling soup), something not many restaurants do. The rich flavor of the broth combined with the soft dumplings, made in-house daily, is a must-try. 853 is a pork barbecue restaurant located in a renovated hanokin Insa-dong, offering various cuts of pork such as shoulder, belly, blade-end fatback, and pork neck. Ojugine is a restaurant that specializes in dak maeuntang, a spicy chicken stew that is different from dak bokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken), as the former has more soup than the latter. The stew is served whilst boiling, so one just needs to let it sit for a bit on the table before digging in. The spicy sauce and chicken are a match made in heaven, and the same goes for this dish. Interestingly, Ojugine uses smaller chickens to prepare their dishes, so the flesh braises in the stock faster. The resulting combination is sure to offer a memorable meal. Any remaining soup can be reused as a sauce for fried rice after the main meal, so visitors are advised to leave some space in their stomach.
