Byukchoji Gardens is made up of a Korean-style and a European-style garden. It is home to nearly 1,400 species of plants. Each garden is organized under a single theme, such as mythology, adventure, and freedom. Byukchoji Gardens also features walking trails, ponds, greenhouses, and lawns. Byukchoji Pond has a Lotus Flower Garden with lotus flowers blooming. Visitors can walk on the trails built above the pond to examine the flowers up close. Nearby tourist sites include Bakdalsan Mountain, Paju Book City, and the Paju Samneung Cluster, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Of the Four Great Gates (Sukjeongmun, Namdaemun, Dongdaemun, and Seodaemun), established by King Taejo in 1396, Sukjeongmun is called the north gate.

Located to the north of Seoul, this gate, with Gyeongbokgung Palace in the center and Changaemun (Jahamun) to the right, make up the wings of the north gate. Due to the possible danger of the area being damaged from all the pedestrians, the king in 1413 planted pine trees and prohibited passing this area. Henceforth, Sukjeongmun became a scenic walkway until the North Korean Communist infiltration of 1968, which prohibited the passing of all civilians.

The reopening of Sukjeongmun in April of 2006 has led to the opening of Bugaksan Mountain in April of 2007 and is in the process of dividing it into 3 courses. Bugaksan Mountain has been kept well-preserved due to a long period of restriction in this area, and if you climb the mountain, you will be able to see all of Seoul.

Whanki Art Museum exhibits the works of Kim Whanki (1913-1974), the pioneer of Korean abstract art. Kim was inspired by traditional features such as Korean mountains and streams, the sky, moons and clouds, the white porcelain and traditional patterns, and worked to express them in abstract forms through points, lines, and surfaces. The main collection features nearly 300 works by Kim. One can also find an art shop and a café.
