Bupyeong Pungmul Festival started in 1997 to establish the identity and pride of Bupyeong as well as develop and promote the success of the traditional culture. The music played at the festival, which sometimes takes center stage, is called ”pungak,” and the instruments and decorations used are collectively known as “pungmul.” This vibrant festival, which is centered around the joyous theme of pungmul, takes place in the heart of Bupyeong.
