The main theme focuses on the foundation and identity of Jeju Island, based on the myth of Seolmundae Halmang (Grandmother Seolmundae), who created Jeju Island and the stones of Obaek Janggun (Five Hundred Generals). The park serves as a historical and cultural space where collected stones respresent Jeju's foundation and culture.

Maze Land (메이즈랜드)

Maze Land is a themed park boasting the world’s longest stone maze, measuring roughly 5.3 km in total length. The maze is made mainly using stone and wood found on Jeju and is created to reflect the Jeju's three principle items or "Samda," which describes the things abundant on Jeju Island: rocks, wind, and women. The maze not only offers a fun activity for you and your friends, but also provides health benefits as the stones emit high levels of far-infrared radiation and the woods (T. occidentalis) produce a large volume of phytoncides. The park, with its variety of trees several decades old, is the perfect place for "forest bathing,” in which people surround themselves with nature (particularly trees) to soak in the natural benefits.

In addition to the mazes made of trees and stones, visitors are encouraged to check out the maze museum detailing the history of mazes starting from their origin in the 14th century. During the museum tour, visitors may also participate in hands-on activities such as puzzles and games.

Songdangnamu is a gardening café where visitors can enjoy flowers in a spacious garden. Songdang-ri, known for its abundant rainfall, is recognized as a neighborhood conducive to plant growth, making it popular for landscaping cultivation. Secret Forest, located in Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, is a natural forest path that became famous as a must-visit selfie spot on social media. Jeju Samdajang uses their special “jang,” fermented paste sauce made with ingredients from Jeju, to deliver exquisite flavors and specializes in marinated crab, which is highly regarded among aficionados. In fact, the restaurant exclusively uses seafood and shellfish sourced from the seas of Jeju. Situated in the east of Hwabuk 1-dong and along the coast, Byeoldobong is a parasitic mountain made of siliciclastic sedimentary rocks and lava. Its northern slope is dominated by steep cliffs where a large rock called Jasalbawi Rock (Suicide Rock) is located. At the bottom of the cliffs are Goraegul Cave (Whale Cave) and an oddly-shaped rock that looks like a mother carrying her child on her back.

Despite being only 136m high, Byeoldobong is home to Jangsu Trail, a walking path that stretches over 1.8km around coastal cliffs, overlooking the ocean. Considered the most pleasant trail on Jeju Island, it offers a spectacular view of numerous peaks, Jeju Port and its nearby villages, and the emerald-blue sea. Naturally, it is a popular tourist destination for family visitors and couples.

Mankind tends to only remember the heroes of civilization. Jeju 4.3 Peace Park was created to remember those who fell protecting their homeland during the Jeju uprising which broke out on April 3, 1948. The park is the symbol of reconciliation and peace, and seeks to open a new chapter of life.

The development project of Jeju 4.3 Peace Park was a result of the reparations for the victims of the Jeju uprising. The 4.3 Special law was promulgated in the year 2000, and the following steps proceeded: property acquisition for the park, master plan of the park establishment, design competitions for the park, construction, exhibits and installations. It finally opened to the public on March 28, 2008.
