An observatory nearby provides splendid sea views, and Bangpo Port is a source of fresh seafood from the Yellow Sea.

Cheollipo Arboretum (천리포수목원)

Cheollipo Arboretum is located on the tip of the Taean peninsula, and was founded by Min Byung-gal (Carl Ferris Miller), the "blue-eyed Korean." Min purchased the land in 1962 and starting in 1970, many trees were planted in earnest. At that time, the park was only open to experts in related fields and members who helped fund the arboretum. In 2009, select sections of the arboretum were finally opened to the general public. The arboretum features more than 16,830 kinds of plants (as of October 2022), including holly, magnolia, camelia, and maple trees, as well as five varieties of Rose of Sharon, the national flower.

Cheollipo Beach (천리포해수욕장)

Cheollipo Beach is among the many beaches located within Taeanhaean National Park. It is located 2 kilometers north of Mallipo Beach, a well-known beach in Taean. Another 2 kilometers north is Baengnipo Beach. The beaches in the park are characterized by shallow waters that are 1~2 meters deep with a 1-kilometer beach shore. In particular, Cheollipo Beach is noted as an amazing sunset spot, making it a popular attraction regardless of swimming season.

Kkotji Beach (꽃지해수욕장)

Kkotji Beach, located in beautiful Anmyeon, features a 5 kilometer stretch of white sand, and attractions like Halbaebawi and Halmaebawi Rocks (Grandpa & Grandma Rocks). Halmaebawi Rock is said to have once been a real woman, Mido, who lived during the Silla period. Her husband was sent on business and never returned. Mido sat by the ocean every day waiting for his return, eventually turning into a stone. Further out to sea, there is a large rock, which naturally earned the nickname of Halbaebawi. Many visitors come to Kkotji Beach all year round to enjoy the beautiful view, and take walks along the beach. The sunset scenery has also become a favorite for photographers.

Seosan Seogwangsa Temple (서광사(서산))

Seongwangsa Temple is located in the quiet downtown area of Eupnae-dong, Seosan in Chungcheongnam-do. Its convenient location makes it easily accessible from almost anywhere in town.

The temple was built by Great Monk Daegyeong in 928 in the late Silla period and the scholar Choi Chiwon came here to study while he was serving as the governor of Buseong-gun (currently Seosan) in 893. Originally, the temple was called Samseonam, or Three Hermitages, for there had been three hermitages in the upper, middle, and lower part of Buchunsan Mountain. During the late Joseon dynasty, the hermitages in the upper and middle part were closed and only the one at the bottom survived. In 1987, the name was changed to Seogwangsa Temple.
