JUMP is another Korean-created non-verbal performance that the world has fallen in love with. It was the first show to sell out the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2005 and 2006 and has captivated more than 9 million people in more than 90 countries overseas. In 2019, it became the first Korean show to be licensed to Broadway's Union Square Theater in New York City.
The biggest difference between JUMP and other non-verbal shows like NANTA is the dynamic elements of martial arts and acrobatics. The characters foreshadow a lot. The family consists of five members: a grandfather who is a master of taekwondo, Taekkyeon, and karate; a father who is a master of martial arts and the fastest runner away from his wife; a mother who has won the national daughter-in-law martial arts competition for three consecutive years; an uncle who is an expert in drunken arts; and a daughter who is chic but can't get away from being the daughter of a master of martial arts.
With a duplicitous son-in-law candidate and clueless thieves on the scene, each episode becomes exciting. Of course, it's not hard to guess what's going to happen, but the high-level martial arts skills of the cast will surprise you. Besides, it doesn't miss the jump into the comedy genre!
