Finding Mr. Destiny is a leading Hallyu musical. It was the first original Korean musical to be licensed to China and Japan and won the 2019 Korean Wave Awards in the musical category in 2018. It is also a breeding ground for Hallyu actors. Kim Moo-yul of Sweet Home: Season 3 on Netflix and the movie Crime City 4 played the role of "the man." For actresses, Kwak Seon-young of Moving on Disney+, Oh Na-ra of SKY Castle on JTBC, and Jeon Mi-do of Hospital Playlist on tvN played the role of "the woman” in the play. Since 2006, it has already been performed more than 8,000 times and attracted more than 1.55 million people.
The theme of the play is the most common language in the world, "first love." The story is about "the woman" who can't forget her first love and “the man,” who runs a one-man company that finds first lovers for his clients and sets out to find the woman's first love, Mr. Destiny. Along the way, they meet twenty-two people, including a fortune teller, a taxi driver, and a local guide in India. All of them are skillfully played by a single character, "the multi-man." Jin Sun-kyu of Extreme Job and Crime City and Jung Sang-hoon of SNL Korea on tvN played the multi-man, a real laugh riot in this show. It was also made into a movie of the same name starring Hallyu stars Gong Yoo and Lim Soo-jung.
