Jangchungdan-Park (장충단공원)

Der Jangchungdan-Park liegt am nordöstlichen Fuße des Bergs Namsan. Am 20. August 1895 wurde die Königin Myeongseong von japanischen Soldaten im Palast Gyeongbokgung ermordet und viele Soldaten ließen beim Versuch, die Eindringlinge zurückzuhalten, ihr Leben. Im Gedenken an diese Soldaten ließ König Gojong im November 1900 an dem Ort, wo heute das Shilla Hotel Guesthouse steht, den Schrein Jangchungdan errichten. Der Schrein wurde während des Koreakriegs zerstört, und die Gegend wurde im Jahre 1919 zu einem Park restauriert.

Gwanghwamun Plaza (광화문광장)

Statue des Admirals Yi Sun-Shin (충무공 이순신 동상)

Die Statue des Admirals Yi Sun-shin wurde am 27. April 1968 errichtet, um den Mut und die Tapferkeit dieses Nationalhelden zu ehren. Die Statue ist 17 meter hoch und der Admiral trägt ein Schwert in seiner rechten Hand, das für Schutz und Patriotismus stehen soll. Vor der Statue ist eine Miniaturversion des von Yi Sun-shin erfundenen Schildkrötenschiffes. Zusätzlich befinden sich dort 2 Trommeln, die genutzt wurden, um die Kriegsmoral der Soldaten für eine Schlacht zu erhöhen.
